Since the month of August Hip Hop Humanism has been in full swing, giving back to the community. In the month of August we had our first annual Andre Sanders "We Teach Kids to FISH program that is a part of our Kid's Way Out Initiative we were able to give 34 kids back to school supplies while also mentoring to them and teaching them how to fish. It was an experience they will never forget and it is one that we will continue every year and we hope to eventually have in more than one state. Starting on the east coast migrating up down and across America.
We are currently doing our next program in our initiative called Let's Make Art. We are working with high school students that do not have an art program in their school but has skills or want to learn how to be a become better artist. We also are about to have an opportunity to work with 4th and 5th graders doing the same thing. We hope to help these children have other things to do with their time besides get in trouble. We hope to break the cycle and show these children that they can do other positive things.
The next program that we will launch out of our initiative it's called We Can Make Music where children will have an opportunity to not only be able to make music manually with instruments, but they will also be able to go into a recording studio and hopefully walk away with something that they made. We honestly believe as long as we continue to get positive things for children to do in the community and spark an interest and encourage talents that we can make the community and the world a better place.
We must invest in our children and that is something that we definitely say over and over, so we ensure that we are not only saying it but we're doing it. We're also in the work of starting a reading program. Here in Delaware currently over half of the third graders in the are not reading on the proper level. We want to start a totally volunteer tutoring program. This month we will feature two unsigned artists and an humanitarian.
Thank you so much for your patience and your support.
